We hold training sessions throughout the year.​ Further information on our training sessions will be shared via email closer to the actual events.

Membership to the society is required for attendance to any workshops or crash courses, unless otherwise indicated.

Workshops

This is a preliminary overview of our Michaelmas 2024 workshops. Keep an eye on our Instagram for more exact dates. Materials will be shared to society members via email.

#1 / "Mooting 101" workshop â€‹

​

​

This workshop is required for any Novice Cup participants, and will cover the essentials of the competititon and of mooting. â€‹

#2 / Introduction to mooting for non-law students 

        in collaboration with NILS

​

 

​This hour-long workshop will cover the very basics of mooting, and is designed for students who have little or no legal experience. We will provide a practice moot problem for students to take home and prepare in advance of the Novice Cup.

​

It will be run by our non-law officers, James & Alessia, in collaboration with Non-Law Into Law Society. 

​​

Membership is not required for this workshop.

#3 / Casedo - Preparing a bundle workshop

​​

 

For our internal competitions, we use our sponsor Casedo's software. This allows you to submit mooting bundles digitally and also speeds up the judging process. 

​

This workshop is required for all Novice Cup participants.

#4 / Advanced Mooting workshop

​​​

​

This workshop reflects on the first two rounds of the Novice Cup, and provides some general feedback and tips for improving your mooting. There will also be a Q&A session. â€‹

​

This workshop is compulsory for Novice Cup semi-final participants. Other mooters may attend on a first-come first-serve basis. Membership required.
