Upcoming Training Sessions

Further information on our training sessions will be shared via email and on our Lounge closer to the date of the event.

With the exception of the Introduction to Mooting Workshop, membership to the society is required for attendance to any workshops or crash courses.

1 / Introduction to Mooting Workshop

[Open to both members and non-members!]

This is an hour-long workshop that will explain how mooting works and will give students an overview of the structure of our competitions.

10 October 2023, 6 to 7pm 

2 / Non-Law Workshop

This is a workshop designed specifically for non-law students. It aims to equip students with basic legal research skills and teaches them how to craft legal arguments. 

12 October 2023, 6 to 8pm [Online via Zoom]

3 / Legal Research & Arguments Crash Course

Through a 30-minute crash course, students will learn the basics of legal research. They will also be taught how to craft strong legal arguments, especially when faced with unfavourable cases. There will be a 15-minute Q&A after. 

13 October 2023, 6 to 6.45pm [Online via Zoom]

4 / Oral Advocacy Crash Course

Through a 30-minute crash course, students will be guided on how to deliver clear and concise oral arguments. They will also be taught how to deal with difficult judicial interventions. There will be a 15-minute Q&A after.

16 October 2023, 6 to 6.45pm [Online via Zoom]

5 / *Bundle Workshop

Through a live demonstration, students learn how to use Casedo to create digital bundles. Please note that attendance to this workshop is compulsory for participation in Novice Cup 2023.

6 / Advanced Mooting Workshop

Through a 45-minute workshop, we highlight the strengths and weaknesses of mooters in the first two rounds of the Novice Cup. We also highlight specific tips for mooting at a more advanced level.
